Honey Pots
Intruder detection / Response systems
A Honey Pot is a specially designed trap that does not contain real data but offers an easy target for hackers to attack. The primary purpose of the Honey Pot is to secretly gather information about the attacks so that management can build up a case and take further action against the perpetrator if desired. Honey Pots are specialized software designed to emulate existing OS / applications riddled with security holes so that they will attract the hacker (hence Honey Pot).
