Exchange POP3 Features
and Benefits |
| Supports all Exchange / Windows platforms |
Supports Microsoft Exchange Server versions
4.x, 5.x and 2000. Runs on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT and 2000.
Can be installed on the same machine as your Exchange server
or any other PC in your network. |
| Unlimited POP3 accounts |
Handles an unlimited number of POP3 accounts.
POP3 accounts may also reside on different Internet Service
Providers. Once connected to the Internet via your dial-up
ISP, Exchange POP3 can log into any number of ISPs to retrieve
your messages. |
| Single and Multiple Recipient POP3
accounts |
Supports both single and
multiple recipient POP3 accounts. A single recipient account
associates one account to one user within an organization.
A multiple recipient account associates one account to multiple
users within an organization. With multiple recipient accounts
(also known as global or domain accounts), Exchange POP3 automatically
examines the incoming message and delivers it to the correct
users within your organization. You can have any combination
of single and multiple recipient accounts. |
| Optionally leaves copy of messages
on POP3 server |
Dataframe has the ability
to keep track of messages that it already has retrieved. This
allows it to optionally leave messages at your ISP's POP3
server so that other users may retrieve these messages using
their email clients. This is usefully for users who also retrieve
their messages from home or from remote locations. You can
specify how many days Exchange POP3 should leave a message
on the server before being deleted. |
| Supports IMAP |
IMAP is a newer email protocol
and more robust than POP3. IMAP is offered by many ISPs and
some ISPs are discontinuing their POP3 support. Dataframe
Exchange POP3 supports IMAP - protecting your investment and
allowing you to choose any ISP regardless of the service they
offer (now or in the future). |
| Auto-Compression |
Dataframe Exchange POP3 has
built-in PKZIP technology allowing it to auto-compress large
attachments before sending them to the Internet. ZIP compression
is the world-wide standard on the Internet. File compression
can be controlled based on minimum attachment size and types
of files to auto-compress (e.g. EXE, DOC, etc.). You can also
specify as you send each message if you want to override the
compress settings in Exchange POP3 by including the keyword
COMPRESS or NOCOMPRESS in the subject. |
| Virus scanning |
Dataframe Exchange POP3 scans
both incoming and outgoing messages for viruses. Flexible
settings give you complete control over how viruses are handled
and who is notified of the infected message. |
| 100% Message Fidelity |
Dataframe Exchange POP3 processes
messages in-line without compromising any message fidelity.
Preserving message fidelity ensures all features of a message
are maintained, such as, foreign characters, background images,
embedded messages, etc. |
| Flexible connection schedule + on-demand
connections |
You can configure Exchange
POP3 to connect to the Internet as often as you require based
on the day of the week and time-of-day. Optionally, Exchange
POP3 can be set to connect on-demand when there is a specified
number of messages waiting to be sent. |
| Message size restriction |
When configuring the Internet
connection schedule you can also optionally specify a maximum
message size for different times-of-day. This allows you to
control the size of messages you send and receive leaving
larger messages to be processed at off peak hours. |
| All Internet connection methods supported |
Dataframe Exchange POP3 can
establish an Internet connection using Windows Dial-Up Networking
or any proxy server. |
| Message tracking |
Each message that is received
or sent by Exchange POP3 is assigned an identifier and tracked
through the system. Using Exchange POP3's search capability,
you can in real-time correlate all the message logs in the
system that pertain to that message and determine when the
message entered the system, how it was processed and when
it left the system. |
| Message auditing |
You can set criteria that
when met will cause a message to be sent to an auditing mailbox.
Criteria is based on sender, recipients, subject, and attachment
names. |
| Rules-based message processing engine |
You can set criteria that
when met will cause a message to be sent to another recipient,
copied to another recipient, rejected and/or send the sender
an automatic response. Criteria is based on sender, recipients,
subject, and attachment names. |
